The Staff never hesitates to send him to deal with the ones they deem troublesome and “confused”. They order him to the Witch’s room. Bring a mop and bucket, they say. He opens the door. Screaming silence and a defiant stare greet him from stifling darkness. He greets her politely and enters. To his surprise, the look in her eyes softens, and he approaches when she gestures him to come close. Everything about her is repulsive and inappropriate; yet he doesn’t pull away when her skeletal fingers touch his chest. He looks into her eyes and she looks into his heart. She smiles a smile that makes him want to hug her and weep.
